Avatar - Fire & Ash and Stranger Things finale

A little review (no spoilers)

Enjoy

Ok, ok… where do I even start?! Honestly, both of these were just WOW in my opinion.

Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) - IMDb

The day before New Year’s Eve, we headed to Showcase Cinemas in Southampton (a firm family favourite of ours) to watch the new Avatar film. We loved the first two, so we already knew this one would be right up our street, but even with high expectations, it still completely blew us away.

The level of detail and effort that goes into these films is honestly mind blowing, and this latest instalment did not disappoint. It was emotional, edge of your seat stuff, full of highs, lows, and moments that were just utterly mesmerising. There were definitely a few tears shed along the way.

Despite being a long film, it never once felt boring or like it needed to hurry up and end (which I can’t say for all longer movies). If Avatar is your thing, I’d absolutely recommend going to see it, popcorn at the ready 🍿.

Now onto Stranger Things- the season finale and final ever episode.

Jaime and I started watching Stranger Things when it pretty much had just come out quite a few years ago now, well before all the hype, and once we got into it we were completely hooked. We’ve followed the show from the very beginning, watching the characters grow and the story evolve over the years, so going into the final showdown felt incredibly emotional.

I won’t spoil anything, but once again… there were tears. I know there have been mixed reviews, with some people wanting more, but honestly? I think it was the perfect ending. It felt right.

It was also really special that the older two girls got into it too. They’ve been catching up over the last few years, and in the run up to season five, Harper rewatched the previous four seasons about three or four times, safe to say, we have some serious Stranger Things fans in this house!

Without giving too much away, we absolutely loved both of these and they made for the perfect Christmas viewing for us. I’d love to know your thoughts, have you seen either of them, or are they on your watch list?

Merry Christmas - New blog post

A little twixmas blog post

Enjoy

Hello from the sofa of a very festive living room.
I have not been writing for a long while (busy with life and overthinking haha!) but I am back and ready to start the new year as I mean to go on....chatting lots and hopefully being consistant.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas however you chose celebrate, I know it can be a very hard time for lots of people, so sending all my love to you, and just know everyone experiences life in many different ways, ups and downs and I am always here for a chat or on my instagram if ever needed.

We had a few festive visits with family and friends planned at the pub for Christmas Eve, and round their houses, we had Christmas dinner at Jaimes mum & stepdads which was so lovely but the younger two children were definitely overwhelmed from the early excitement so it wasn't a late night which was perfect for us. Boxing Day was a fabulous family event at my mums as it is my sisters birthday, so all the extended family come over and the children do karaoke and just basically cause chaos!

We also did a couple of lovely forest walks as we have the beautiful New Forest right on our doorstep (and a lovely local pub to walk to and enjoy a glass of merlot by the fire) we also have been watching the Marvel films in chronological order which we love!

We have had lots of little picky dinners while watching film and binged Stranger Things on Boxing Day morning, we are soooo excited for new year's day!! Anyone else in the Stranger Things hype at the moment?

I will be keeping the Christmas decorations up until just after the new year and then it's coming down for a fresh new year. It's also my eldest birthday early January so it's nice to have a clean house ready for her birthday celebrations!

I am so ready to start eating clean, ordering all my supplements I want to keep on top of (so many good deals still from the sales I will link a few below) getting back in a gym routine with the older two girls too, as they are home educated we like to make it part of their weekly routine. I also want to really focus on my skincare routine, I am taking A LOT of inspiration from Lydia Millen at the moment and her skin (as always) is glowing. And keeping on top of my goals & journaling.

Anyway, I am easing myself in with my first return of my blog posts, and Jaime, the older two girls and myself are off to watch the new Avatar Fire & Ash film at the cinema while my mum looks after the younger two, so must dash and get ready. Will do a little post about what we think of the film for you all.

A Splash of Summer with Mermaid Gin at HarBAR on 6th

We had the absolute pleasure of attending a fabulous Mermaid Gin Summer Party at the stylish HarBAR on 6th, located at the stunning Southampton Harbour Hotel. It was the perfect way to kick off the summer season in style – sun, sea views, and sensational cocktails!

The event showcased Mermaid Gin’s spectacular new summer cocktail menu, filled with bright, refreshing flavours that truly capture the spirit of summer. Think zesty citrus notes, subtle botanicals, and beautifully balanced mixers that make each drink as photogenic as it is delicious. πŸ‹πŸŠ✨

Adding to the summer charm, HarBAR on 6th has unveiled a brand-new Mermaid Gin foliage installation – a lush, vibrant display that transforms the space into a citrus oasis. It's the perfect backdrop for a chilled drink with friends or a golden hour selfie.

The atmosphere was buzzing, the cocktails were flowing, and the views over the marina were as gorgeous as ever. Whether you're a gin lover or simply looking for a summer spot with a great vibe, this is the place to be.

Have you seen the new setup yet? If not, I highly recommend heading down to HarBAR on 6th and enjoying your first sip of summer. Trust me – it's the kind of experience you'll want to come back to again and again. 🧜‍♀️🍸🌿
