Mottisfont National Trust & The Goat Pub

We had a wonderful day at Mottisfont National Trust using the free family tickets the National Trust were giving out for autumn.

We came here when Cass was a couple of weeks old, and loved it, sadly it was raining which meant the house was closed, but it was very very quiet. However this time the autumnal sun was shining, (it was ALOT busier) but we managed to walk around the house which is beautiful!

There is a little cafe inside the historical main house and also a cafe in the stables. We sat down and had coffee, hot chocolates & cake inside the main house again which was so lovely.

Mottisfont Abbey is a historical priory and country estate in Hampshire, England. Sheltered in the valley of the River Test, the property is now operated by the National Trust. 393,250 people visited the site in 2019.The site includes the historic house museum which features regularly changing art exhibitions, gardens, including a walled rose garden which is home to the National Plant Collection of ancestral rose species and 19th-century rose cultivars, and a riverside walk. It is a Grade I listed building.

There is a huge river you can walk along called the River Test and cross over some quaint little wooden bridges and see the swans and the ducks, and lots of little streams around the gardens.

They also had their Halloween funny bones book trail for the children to find all the skeletons dotted around the gardens and a whole funny bones zoo, the children loved finding all these. This was on until the 5th of November, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do next year. Perfect place to visit in there halloween half term school holidays.

A few gorgeous photos of the amazing Mottisfont House-

If you haven’t been to Mottisfont National Trust yet I highly recommend a visit as it’s just so stunning!

Lastly we went for a delicious roast dinner at a pub in Timsbury, near Romsey called The Goat. We have been a few times and as always their food is just divine.

Poole, UK

I was kindly invited along to Compton Acres, a 10 acre, beautifully themed gardens, with a cafe tearoom, garden centre, pizzeria, gift shop and wonderful wedding/events venue. Situated in Poole, Dorset, it makes the most perfect south coast day out! Poole is right next door to Bournemouth the famous seaside town. There is so much to do here its such a great family day out, or just as great for adults.

Compton Acres Link if you want to check out their fabulous website!

Compton Acres was first constructed in 1920 as is still one of the most extravagant privately owned gardens in England. It has now made its name as one of the finest wedding venues, and has an award winning Italian villa perfect as a backdrop for some fabulous photos.

The garden has 5 main themed gardens consisting of The Italian Garden, The Wooded Valley, The Rock & Water Gardens, The Heather Garden and The Japanese Garden and boasts over 3000 species of plants.

I was attending a photography workshop with which is amazing, so informative and helpful with hopefully giving my photography a bit more of a push! We got to enjoy some divine freshly baked shortbreads and biscuits, along with some fizz making for such a lovly day. It was a cool, but sunny day meaning the weather was perfect and I managed to get some gorgeous photos of the gardens I walked through. Sadly the Italian villa was closed by the time we were finished but I shall be returning to check this out and hopefully try one of their delicious pizzas!

Go check this place out if you can, its a beautiful place to see and explore.
