National Trust, Romsey, UK

We had a wonderful day at Mottisfont National Trust using the free family tickets the National Trust were giving out for autumn.

We came here when Cass was a couple of weeks old, and loved it, sadly it was raining which meant the house was closed, but it was very very quiet. However this time the autumnal sun was shining, (it was ALOT busier) but we managed to walk around the house which is beautiful!

There is a little cafe inside the historical main house and also a cafe in the stables. We sat down and had coffee, hot chocolates & cake inside the main house again which was so lovely.

Mottisfont Abbey is a historical priory and country estate in Hampshire, England. Sheltered in the valley of the River Test, the property is now operated by the National Trust. 393,250 people visited the site in 2019.The site includes the historic house museum which features regularly changing art exhibitions, gardens, including a walled rose garden which is home to the National Plant Collection of ancestral rose species and 19th-century rose cultivars, and a riverside walk. It is a Grade I listed building.

There is a huge river you can walk along called the River Test and cross over some quaint little wooden bridges and see the swans and the ducks, and lots of little streams around the gardens.

They also had their Halloween funny bones book trail for the children to find all the skeletons dotted around the gardens and a whole funny bones zoo, the children loved finding all these. This was on until the 5th of November, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do next year. Perfect place to visit in there halloween half term school holidays.

A few gorgeous photos of the amazing Mottisfont House-

If you haven’t been to Mottisfont National Trust yet I highly recommend a visit as it’s just so stunning!

Lastly we went for a delicious roast dinner at a pub in Timsbury, near Romsey called The Goat. We have been a few times and as always their food is just divine.
